We want you and your children to be able to connect and grow with us. The following activities are some of the areas where kids can connect.
AWANA: Our AWANA program is offered Wednesday nights during the school year from 7 – 8:30 PM. We have classes for the following ages: Cubbies – 3 & 4 year olds; Sparks – Kindergarten through 2nd grade; and T&T – 3rd – 5th grades. Independent study is available for those in 6-12th Grades. Scholarships are provided by many Christian colleges for those who have finished a certain number of books. This number depends on the college. Nursery is provided. We also offer a place for adults to connect during this time.
AWANA stands for (2 Timothy 2:15) “Approved workmen are not ashamed” AWANA is an international, nondenominational Bible-centered children’s and youth ministry. AWANA is committed to evangelizing and disciplining children and youth. AWANA does this by having a club night filled with game time, lessons and book time. We also have store, parties and missionary speakers. During lesson time the clubbers learn about becoming a born again Christian and how to live a Christian life. The Bible verses they learn help to equip them in growing as a born again Christian. AWANA also has special events. Cubbies have a duckie race and a match car race. Sparks have a Float a Boat and they participate in the churches Grand Prix. T&T go to G.A.i.N. warehouse each year. They also participate in the Grand Prix and at the end of the year they have a daylong retreat. AWANA is helping churches and parents worldwide to raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. These children/youth are the next generation and they need to be strong in the Lord, whether it is for service in the local church or on the mission field. See Sermons and Church News for upcoming events and pictures.
Sunday School: We offer the Sunday School to children ages 2 – 5th grade at 9:15 AM. We have age appropriate classes with experienced teachers who care for the spiritual welfare of our children.
Club Caterwaul: We offer Club Caterwaul and Children’s Church on Sundays at 10:30 AM during the morning worship service for children ages 2 – 5th grade. Ages 2 – 4 and those not in Kindergarten have Bible story time, snack time, craft time, and playtime. Those in Kindergarten through 5th Grade enjoy a snack time, then the K and 1st have a worship time and then break into a small group for Bible time. Meanwhile the 2nd – 5th graders have a small group time first and then a worship time after the K and 1st Graders. This allows us to better minister to the different age groups at an age appropriate level.
DVBS – KIDS Camp: We offer KIDS Camp to the entire family one in week in the summer. We have classes for all ages from nursery to adults. We believe that it is important for us to reach out to our community during this week and we focus on getting the good news of Christ to them during this week.
Preschool: Precious Promise Preschool believes that children are a gift from God and exists to guide children using God’s Word. We offer developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment. Each child is viewed as an individual and will be guided to be the best they can be. Early childhood is a wonderful time in a child’s life where they are able to explore and discover the fascinating world which God has created around them in a caring environment.
Precious Promise Pre-School is an extension program of the Bible Fellowship Church. It was established in 1988 when the Ephrata Academy merged with Lancaster Christian School. That merge resulted in the birth of Precious Promise Pre-School. The Bible Fellowship Church recognizes a need for Christian Education and thus provides PPP as a service to those parents who want an education for their children based upon Christian principles and standards. Nursery: The nursery is offered on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Evenings to children ages 0 – 2 years. Sunday Evening and other occasions when there is not a class for 2 and 3 year olds, it is open to children through age 3.
Safe Haven: The policy of the Bible Fellowship Church of Ephrata (BFC of E) is to put into practice all procedures which will provide for the maximum safety of all in attendance who are 18 years of age and under.
